This has definitely been my favorite project to date! My creative juices were in full swing while designing our little guy's nursery. From painting, to sewing, to mounting antlers... I enjoyed every ounce of effort I put into making his nursery special.
I knew from the beginning that I wanted the nursery to be gray and yellow, but when we found out our little wiggle worm was a boy, I sought to make the nursery "manly"... in a little boy kind of way anyways. Since daddy is an outdoorsman, I brought a little of the outdoors in. Daddy has fondly dubbed it "The Little Man Cave."
I started by designing an antler mobile... My father-in-law graciously donated the antlers.

I painted a silhouette of a "monster buck" on a 16x20 canvas.
If you had asked me 5 years ago if I thought I would be boiling antlers on my stove, I would have thought you were crazy! But the things I will do for the men in my life... hehe... My dad made the plaques that the antlers are mounted on, and I then spray painted everything white. If you can not tell, I believe white spray paint takes everything from "rugged" to baby appropriate :)
When my hubby and I were dating, we would sing "You are my sunshine" as loud as we could and VERY off key! It is a fond memory from our dating days... I designed these cute pictures in Photoshop and framed them. LOVE how they turned out!
One of the most time consuming and rewarding projects I had for the nursery was the bedding set. I could not find a bedding set that I liked, so I ventured to make my own and I was very please with the result! I made a tiny quilt, 2 crib sheets, and a crib skirt. You can find the patterns I used at this
website.
I love the nursery, and I love the little guy that will be spending his time sleeping and playing in it! I think Max is a fan of the nursery too!!! :)
