My blog has obviously taken a backseat the past several weeks, thankfully my scripture memorization has not slacked! Though I have not been posting my weekly verses, I have continued to "hide God's word in my heart." (Psalm 119:11)
Each week, I find that I am eager to dig through His Word and see what He has for me that week. It is amazing to experience how the living Word of God can lead you, give you peace, and grow you in wisdom!!
I can not emphasize to you enough, the power of the Word of God. Until you make the commitment to "let the Word of Christ dwell in your richly in all wisdom," (Colossians 3:16) you will not understand what I am talking about.
I really hope that I can encourage you make the commitment and begin memorizing some scripture. If there is a specific trial you are going through and do not know where to begin looking in the Bible, I would be happy to try and find something applicable to you.
Since it has been a while, I figured I would just catch y'all up on what I have been memorizing the past couple weeks.
Week 19 - How to know you are on your way to Heaven
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:9-10
Works do not get you to Heaven... no one is "good enough"for that! Jesus, the son of God and a sinless man, died on the cross for YOUR sins. He was the perfect sacrifice to cover all of the sins we have committed. What is the most amazing part about His salvation? It is a free gift!!! All you must do is confess to God that you are a sinner in need of a Savior and believe in your heart that He died for you and was raised from the dead. We do not serve a dead man but a risen Savior who concurred death!!!!
Please, please, please contact me if you have any doubts about whether you are on your way to heaven. It is my desire to help you have assurance of your salvation and to know where you will spend eternity. It is amazing the peace that will enter your soul when you have your eternity sealed in Christ.
Week 20 - Waiting on the Lord
" But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31
It is amazing how God will bring to mind certain scripture over and over when you need it most... I must have really needed Isaiah 40:31 because the Lord has shown me this verse several times during my morning devotions over the past few months. Waiting is always so hard to do, but when you are waiting on the Lord, your strength will be renewed! I am still waiting on several things in my life, but it is a comfort knowing God has it all in control.
Week 21 - Game-plan for life!
"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of God dwell in your richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalm and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him."
Colossians 3:12-17
I love how these verses give you a game plan for your Christian walk! I do not think I need to expound upon any of these verses because they are so plain... this is what we as Christians need to strive for!!
